    How about two all-star games?

I'd like to see two real life all-star games a year. One as it is now and one with the real absolute statistical (all good, all around players. No all hit no field types) best at thier positions after the season. Even a day night all-star double header with the same as above.

I'd like to see a rookie game, like how they have in the NBA. It would be awesome to be able to see all the rookies and somphmores playing at once.

I don't know how much I'd like to see the All-around-All-Star Game only because some of the pitchers would dominate the average hitters. it's most likely be a 1-0/2-1 game or something similar and it would never last anyway cause everyone loves offense.

An extra game is always cool though.

I don't mean to play a Bill Mazeroski type over an Alfonso Soriano type. I mean that the guy who plays second would be the best overall at that position. You could give a little offense or defense away, but not just have a guy out there because he's from a big (New York is a good example of this) market and the people stuffed the ballot box for him.

I see. So who would decide this?

I'd say the managers or maybe all of the players. You'd have to leave players from thier own team off of thier ballots though, and do it by secret ballot. You obviously couldn't trust this commisioner with a decision like this. Or maybe the sportswriters and leave thier hometown guys off of the ballot. Or grab a few non-homers to make the selections. Peter Gammons, while he is from Boston, seems honest enough, he goes on WEEI sports radio once a week here and talks baseball. He doesn't seem to be extra friendly to Boston when he's on. It might be fun for the HOF players to put a real all-star team on the field for the first time in a long time too. Have 'em all in a room or via video conference and let them decide it. I have heard a lot of HOF'ers complain about the guys not taking it seriously and about how it was an honor in thier day. I think they'd do pretty well picking the right guys.

Another idea would be to have one all-star game that the fans vote the players, and have another where the players and managers vote for the players.
