The overt statistical problems are a biggie, and much easier to identify obviously. The minor league at bats and other stat issues, and the strikeouts issue I recently ran into (http://forum.sportsmogul.com/showthread.php?t=77979) seriously mess with sim results. So yeah, I'd like to see those squashed ASAP.

Having said that, is there any way to get some quick and dirty AI fixes in there to get the most egregious problems out of the way? Not talking "Tradezilla" but something to help us bridge the gap?

The AI stockpiling of AAA players is huge and has far reaching impacts, including, but not limited to, competitive balance, financial viability and player development. Having players 31+ with ratings <60 retire at the end of the year would be a great first step that would clear out alot of dead wood (including former MLB players who hang around FAR, fAR too long in the minors after they are through).

The selection of major league lineups is another one. No reason to carry an inferior prospect on the bench when a better (overall rating) player wastes away in AAA. The same logic used to select position players could be expanded to the bench. After selecting all 8 starters, choose the next best player for DH/PH, then choose the next best Catcher for a backup catcher, the 2 next best OF, and the 2 next best IF (2B, SS, or 3B only).

Those 2 changes alone would improve things noticeably in the short term.
