    Injuries

Is it just me or is there way too many injuries on BM 2k6?I've played two seasons and have suffered massive amounts of injuries to key players. Does increasing the difficulty to mogul increase the amount of injuries now because I've never seen this many injuries on the mogul level in previous years.

I am having a problem with my 96 rated pitchers, i have 2 pitchers go down each year with a 235 injury.....

I think this is just an over correction of all of the current young stars ending up with 800 home runs. I have noticed it's gotten better since it happened but it still needs to be fixed, especially for pitchers.

I agree there are too many injuries. This is one of those things that the "correct" amount of injuries vary from person to person and that's why I really am hoping that Clay can implement some type of user controlled variable for injury rates.

The health rating can be changed in the player editor for each player. The issue is that injuries are too many all around.

Health ratings are not the problem. The injury frequency is way too high making the amount of injuries annoying and uncontrollable. This is a problem that definitely needs to be fixed in the upcoming patch.

Holy cow.. injuries are almost to the point of rediculous. In just three weeks, Zambrano 65, Rusch 116, Wood 114, and A.Ramirez 72 all went down with injuries.
Not sure if I'm actually adding anything to the discussion other than highlighting the unusually high number of injuries. Hope it's addressed soon.
Otherwise, so far, the game's a gem!

Edit: Oh my goodness.. just two weeks later, I lost friggen Maddux for 89 days. So in 5 weeks, 4/5 of my SP out for more than two months!

During my first season as the Cleveland Indians by about June I had Cliff Lee, Jake Westbrook, Kevin Milwood, Victor Martinez, Casey Blake, Brandon Phillips, Jason Bere, and Aaron Boone all on the DL. In fact Milwood, Westbrook, and Martinez all out for the season. Once again this better be fixed because this "problem" nearly ruins the game.

I never meant to say that you could fix the injury issue. What i was saying was that some players will become injured less often and for a shorter time if their health rating is higher.

At least they're trying to fix the problem. The injury factor has gone up so much recently because of complaints of players obtaining rediculously high career stats such as 900 home runs and 5000 hits. It just needs to be tweaked a bit more.

I do agree that there were too many players in previous years having hall of fame careers. The injuries only need to be reduced to a level where its not as annoying.

Yeah.. the injuries are pretty out of hand.

    One year I had my 1B out for 65 days, catcher for 80, #1 starter 100, #2 55 days..

I've never minded having quite a few "short-term" injuries since there are only a few players who can play 162 games season after season.

But right now I'm just getting so many huge injuries, to young players with 85+ health that I just bascially wipe the injuries all the time.

Perhaps a way to counteract young studs getting 800 HRs is just to up the chance of their health (and really other stats) decreasing over time rather than to up the overall injury rate. There just arent' that many good players who can maintain that level for 10-15 years.

what if baseball mogul went the way of OOTP on the injury issue. OOTP seems to have injuries occur in a realistic fashion.
    Old Injury ratings:
    1-100
    New Idea:
    Having different stages such as:
Duable for those guys who have trouble going down instead of taking OOTP I suggest you call this "Ironman"
Normal. I have no new name suggestion for this one.
Prone. I have no suggestion for this either.
No I'm not joking. If I was joking I would have said "So a guy walks into a bar..."
