I am not sure where Baseball Mogul is going from here? An app would be significant. But not sure what additions can or will come in future versions?
There is always room for more stats (WAR?), but a more meaningful addition IMHO would be some attempt to include Negro League stars. Especially now that the Negro Leagues have been recognized as "major", it is past time.
It's a dead horse...
Probably, though waiting to post that until the day before MLK Day was perhaps not the best possible way to make the point. In any event, my thought is that it would do no harm to simply include in the player data base a dozen or so recognized stars with photos and notional ratings (that can always be edited to suit if used). Most would have "debut" years around 1920.
It would be neat if Clay could get Ian Smith back, and build BMO again. I would love to play that again, well worth the $15 per month!
Back in the 80's and using the C64 software called "Computer Baseball", you could enter data and build any team.
I searched every where for baseball stats on Negro League players. I found books with just a season or two with stats about players .The library only had data from old newspaper clippings which were just scattered games over the years.
The other problem is books say the Negro League pitching was not as tough to hit as pitching in the Major League.
You may just as well enter the Negro League stars you want into the BBM and use your own Ratings of them based on what your research reveals to you.
BBM is a fictional baseball sim and not rocket science, it is best enjoyed as a "What If" simulator, IMHO.
