The defending Silver Cup champs flexed their muscle again Sunday afternoon, as they trounced the Arizona Wranglers 24-7. Jerry Tubbs bunch dominated on both side of the ball, “They beat us up and down the field. It is tough to win in this league, even more difficult when you execute as poorly as we did,” declared Wranglers Head Coach Tom Pratt. Wranglers Quarterback Gary Huff was sacked 2 times and limited to 150 yards passing on the day.

The New York Titans used the arm strength and accuracy of Joseph Namath to cruise past the Edmonton Trappers 24-10. Namath, the game MVP, connected on 22 of 28 attempts for 253 yards and 2 touchdowns in the win.

“Hixson has career day” – The Tennessean

Chuck Hixson threw for 436 yards and 5 touchdowns as he led his Rebels to a 48-28 victory over division rival Columbus Glory. The Rebels had three ‘century’ receiving performances as well on the day. Henry Childs finished the afternoon with 136 yards, while Doug Kotar and Ron Jessie finished with 123 and 121 yards respectively.

The Seattle Storm, led by versatile back Dexter Bussey’s 163 total yards, improved to 1-1 on the season. The Storm defeated an injury riddled Chicago Blitz club 27-17. Meanwhile, the defending WFC Champs, the Indianapolis Renegades, dropped to 1-1 after a 17-7 Loss to the St. Louis Cardinals. Cardinals Rookie signal caller Joseph Bartkowski threw for 280 yards and 2 touchdowns in the win
