Thanks to media clips like this Trump became POTUS

Even Michael Moore supported Donald J Trump with this clip:

What if it was taken out of context, the main stream media did it to Trump. So don't complain about the table getting turned on you for once ... lol

    Trump is president elect because
    1) we don't have a true democracy, but an electoral college, constitutional republic
    2) voter turnout was incredibly low - low even for Repub wing nuts, but low for everyone
    3) the dems internally screwed the pooch by sabotaging their better candidate, leading to (2) above

It's 2000 all over again, only a less stable, less qualified mess worse than Dubya, which frankly seemed impossible

One thing is different this time and that is the voters have given everything House, Senate and the Presidency to the Republican party this time. They want change this time and it better happen.

Look at that - Pete isn't correct on facts, lol. Gee Dubya was elected with a majority in the house AND (upon Dick Cheney's inauguration) a majority vote in the senate. Here:

When George W. Bush became president in 2001, it marked the first time in 70 years that conservative Republicans controlled all three branches of government.
Frankly, I'm...not at all shocked that someone light on facts voted Trump.

This year, Republican lost seats in the Senate, and important Governorships (here in NC we voted 'em out, and Louisiana has a shot via runoff). Of course they kept the House. But remember that Trump lost the popular vote, and it wasn't exactly close. Assuming you have any kind of mandate would be incorrect - this isn't the 2008 Blue Wave, this is low turnout and apathy due to two terrible candidates. America gave more Senate power to democrats than they had before, and more votes to the democratic Presidential candidate, and that's just the facts.

Trump has seemed to lower the dickishness a huge amount post-election, so one can hope that he sees how narrow and technical-only his victory is, and how the protests and sentiment have quickly swung to the "Oh **** I can't believe this happened" way of things. If he tempers his poor attitude, learns, and leaves things the way they are (Roe v. Wade, healthcare improvements from ACA) then he has a chance to not be a worthless shitball that is gone in 4 years and remembered only in combination with Grant, Jackson, Dubya, and other worthless presidents.

Sorry to break the NEWS to you but ... I am "Correct"

President Bush DID NOT have both houses of Congress upon STARTING his term as POTUS. The control of both houses were acquired during his administration.

I heard that "fact" from NBC news, so I was concerned that it could have been another one of their Fxxxups in reporting again .. but they had it right.

Re: Thanks to media clips like this Trump became POTUS

your link points to the Senate being blue in 2001. here's how it worked:

When Bush/Cheney are inaugurated, its a 50/50 senate and Cheney votes to tiebreak. 50 dems, 50 repubs, and a repub VP casting the tiebreaker. that is what you call control of the senate.

    From YOUR OWN SOURCE:

[2] There were 50 Ds and 50 Rs until May 24, 2001, when Sen. James Jeffords (R-VT) switched to Independent status, effective June 6, 2001; he announced that he would caucus with the Democrats, giving the Democrats a one-seat advantage.

So Bush started in January with a voting majority in both houses - he lost the senate (by one vote) in June 2001. the first six months were all Repub.

C'mon man. study up. Maybe your stocks (and votes) will go better, lol
