I am trying the demo and there are very very few headlines. The only ones appear to be injuries.

Is this true with the normal version as well or is it just the demo that limits the headlines.

it's the same for me with reg version....19.14....just large trades....and major injuries

daves, I usually write my own headlines. It is much more fun and interactive that way. By using your mind more, it can increase your creativity. You might come up with new trade ideas on how to trade for players who will help your team score more runs. If your team scores more runs than your opponent, you will win. Hope this helps your problem.

daves, actually I don't do it within the game. I went to Wal-Mart earlier this week and bought five college-ruled notebooks for $4, a great price if you ask me.

I will write out the headlines to the games that I play, and then I will read them out loud as well, pretending that I am announcing them. Sometimes I pretend it is on SportsCenter and that I am Dan Olbermann or Keith Patrick reading the highlights with some funny sayings.

Sometimes I will invite my family over or call my friends on the phone and read the headlines to them as well. Sometimes they clap and I pretend it is applause at the ballpark.

Much better and more interactive than in-game headlines daves, if you ask me. By writing down your thoughts and ideas more often, it helps you to be more creative. You need creativity to make good trades in Baseball Mogul. By making good trades, you are helping to form a team that will score more runs than your opponent. If you score more runs than your opponent, then you win the game.

I realize that only significant "Headlines" are being generated. I feel you have gone "JUST a bit outside" what makes them at all relevant to the this game. So few are generated that you might as well just eliminate the whole section.

Headlines for this game are bad. Need to be able to edit and make our own.

Whatever wizardry Clay used in previous versions did generate quite a few, but I found them enjoyable and immersive. I would like to see some informing us of day to day activity and exceptional play. Maybe a weekly recap would be a good middle ground.

As of November 1, 1995, in my v19.14 game, the LATEST headline showing on the lower left for my team was exactly 1 year earlier, showing Gold Glove from the PRIOR YEAR.
So, yes, major problem with the headline generation.

Imagine sitting down to one of your favorite meals. A delicious home cooked recipe that has given you more than nourishment over the years. A dish that serves up memories you hold close to your heart, strong in your mind and oh how they soothe your weary soul.

You take your first bite and something is not quite right, it is not as you remember. Something is missing, the flavor has changed. It is not awful, it's... it's... it's BLAND!

I realize this is over the top, still I feel that the severe reduction in the number of Headlines generated, really makes what was a great game extremely boring.

Obviously I don't know what factors went into the decision to make this change. But if there is anyway that it can be reversed. I for one am all for it.

Please don't let The Baseball Mogul Times go the way of too many other “Fourth Estate” entities.
