    What to do with the radically slumping ballplayers?

    Maybe several forum users think alike in how to deal with this in sim mode.

    First I rest him. Then I drop him in the order. Then I bench him. Then I trade him (unless I'm loyal to this player, then I'll just not resign him).

    And if the hypothetical performer is a leading captain of such a team squad; or maybe even a preferential attachment heavily favored by each controlling management executive? How then do you evaluate tradeoffs and make the most strategic decision in check with your resource disposal and the bulk of allotted capital apart from expected income.

    If they're a sentimental favorite, I'd drop them to 9th in the order, and keep them till their contract expires.
