    I think it should be on a case by case basis, umpire discretion, like obstruction. If the runner has a way to the plate without knocking into the catcher, he should take the lane. And intent should be factored... not that I see a lot of runners like Pete Rose these days, honestly. But, what happened with Posey, the guy did not have to run him over like a freight train, he could've slid in with minimal contact. But, some collisions are gonna be unavoidable.
