    BUG 16.12: high pitch count

I'm playing a Modern game in the NL and almost all the opponents use their pitcher too much, until they are tired or very tired. They don't pitch hit for them, even for the relievers, even when they are trailing. I looked into the strategies and the pitch count is set in the middle for these teams, but they continue to do that.

Does this happen with certain teams or all teams?
    Thanks!

A lot of teams, I did not take care of that.

Did you try lowering the "Innings/start" ?
    Thanks!

If you tell me how can I do that I can try, but the problem is even more serious for the relievers. Pirates and Mets have both this problem, for example, and they leave a reliever until he was "exausted" and he went twice at the plate, and they were trailing by 2 runs!

Then, I would remember that it's the first year that there is this problem.

In order to lower the "Innings/start" do this:

    1) Go into the "League" tab on the toolbar.
    2) Click on "Simulation Settings".
    3) Where it says Pitching and Defense, you should see an adjustable box for "Innings/Start".
    4) Change this to your desired amount (negative for lowering in your case).
    5) Click Done.

Let me know if this helps or not.
    Thanks!

I had the same problem and tried that -- lowered it all the way. SP's are routinely going 130-150 pitches, and I've seen relievers with 25 endurance go as many as 75.

    Same as Dan Pfeiffer.
I lowered the inning per start to the maximum (-10%) but this makes the SP tired erlier, don't change the mind of the managers, that continue to use them, also AB, even when they are trailing. The problem is even bigger with the relievers. I think that the PBP mode is worse than the previous edition: the pitchers have BA like normal players for example.

I'm not seeing this problem to the same degree. Sometimes the AI lets pitchers go far too long--130+ pitches for starters, waaaay over the endurance rating for relievers, and not pitch hitting for them when trailing late--but it's only sometimes, not most of the time. Given that, I don't really want to adjust the settings and see the opposite problem of pitchers being yanked to quickly.

Here's another case. Pitcher with a 21 endurance rtg going on 70 pitches with a full pen. Just dont get it.

I have noticed this very same thing. Makes me feel guilty for winning the games in PBP.

Would love to have an "over-ride" option to replace the AI's pitcher when this begins to happen. (I want to win clean!)

Uhm, maybe I'm just blind, but I don't see any pitch counts over 22 in that screenshot. Did you post the wrong screenie?

EDIT: ah, nevermind. It's in the current game, not in the game log.

After a couple of season (where I lowered the inning/start to -10%, the maximum) where the problem was only with the relievers (that pitched for 40-50 pitches and take at bats in the National league), now in 2016 the problem re-start also with the starters, with a couple of games with the opposing pitchers, in april, gone since 150 pitches, till he was exausted.

I would certainly lower it to below -20%, but we will certainly take note of this and look into it. Thank you for the detailed help on the matter!
