thoughts on my recent trade in my pay league?
i dealt
Pablo Sandoval (1b/3b)
Kendry Morales (1b/of)
for
Matt Holliday (of)
Yadier Molina (c)
I have Posey at catcher whom i can move to 1B if needed but I already have David Ortiz whom can play there assuming he's actually healthy. I needed OF help badly. Morales has shown no sign of getting his power back this year and I like Sandoval but Holliday should give me more production. Sandoval's 3B eligibility is not really that big a deal as I have Beltre & Zimmerman whom can play there.
I think the Holliday side is clearly the winner. I don't know the size of the league or the categories but in a 10 team mixed league I think Morales is borderline ownable. So basically you got Holloday and Molina for Sandoval. I think Holliday is clearly the best player in this trade and you got a top catcher to boot. Nice trade.

Of course Holliday just got hurt....

Thoughts on this trade:
I need steals, have an abundance of starting pitching.
I get:
Jason Kipnis
Kyle Lohse
He gets:
Zack Grienke
AJ Burnett
Howie Kendrick
Well if Kendrick was your starting 2nd basemen you made a huge upgrade at the position. Although Kipnis SB numbers have came down to earth (Kendrick actually has more steals this month), so you might not get as much help there as you thought. Burnett has had a good season but it's still AJ Burnett. I just have a hard time trusting him. Grienke has been having a great season, but he has been bad lately and now he's being skipped in the rotation, something is going on with him. All in all I think you made a good deal.

Thoughts on this trade...
Vogelsong has been amazing this year but he's due to fall off eventually right? And my offense has been horrible. Last in average, and lower half in runs and RBIs.
I get:
Bryce Harper
Jay Bruce
He gets:
Ryan Vogelsong
Illini.
Yeah I need a Winn-Dixie grocery bag full of money right next to the VIP section...
Yeah, that was offered to me. I already accepted it. don't worry. And it's not a keeper league so it's not as huge of a haul as it could have been.
And I just wanted to make sure that others thought it was a great deal for me and that I wasn't missing something important.
Nope. Bruce is a much more important asset than Vogelsong, and Harper is just an added bonus. All you need to do to replace Vogelsong is find some other starter in a great pitcher's environment, like Tommy Milone
Illini.

I just got offered this trade:
I give up:
Weaver
Sabathia
He gives up:
Nathan
Jim Johnson

if you need saves more than wins and whip and perfect games, you should totally take it

i was being facetious, hence the referencing of perfect games. i dont think 3 relievers are worth two top starters, unless you are close to your innings limit or something.
So glad for two things today:
I benched Shin Shoo Choo so he could hit another homer
I benched JJ, so he could pitch his first great game in like a month
