turn left, dale!

OK, I'm sure I have a lot of hobbies (watching sports, video games, etc.) that some people probably think are a waste of time and something that wouldn't stimulate them all. I get that. Different strokes for different folks.
However, that said, I do not for the life of me understand the appeal to watching 43 cars drive in a circle for FIVE HUNDRED ****ING MILES until eventually a few of them crash and then they drive really slow for a couple of laps.

I posted that because I know AOW loves the NASCAR. I'm sure he would love to discuss the finer points of getting mere miles to the gallon while turning left.
Holy Montoya! Maybe he should rethink quitting F1!
Some good advice is to never listen to my advice- Woody Paige
Syracuse is threatening, and, for the Knights, Tony Jacobs is throwing up in the bullpen
Talk about a breakdown/car problem at the worst possible time.

Just think, AOW, of all that Jet fuel being burned into the atmosphere, and what isn't burned gets soaked into the Earth.

as someone who works in risk control / loss prevention...i can't fathom how nobody saw the risks of putting a slow moving vehicle full of jet fuel on a track with vehicles that may be going up to 200 MPH. Just unfathomable to me. i know they were in caution but you see all the time in caution where one or more cars are going full throttle to get onto the lead lap (not a nascar fan so not exactly sure how it works, but if you watch nascar you should understand what i'm trying to say there.) Terrible terrible timing to blow a tire when he did....but something like that has got to be anticipated and planned for when you're putting a slow moving bomb on a track with cars going nearly 200MPH.
at the very minimum they could have crash trucks following those moving bombs. I feel bad for the poor schlep who was driving the jet blower and surely didn't have the same level of safety built into his vehicle as Montoya did his. Thank god nobody was seriously hurt.
It is funny though, that more people in Milwaukee watched the rain coming down at Dayton Sunday afternoon than watched the NBA all-star game. It wasn't even close either!
Labor is prior to, and independent of, capital. Capital is only the fruit of labor, and could never have existed if labor had not first existed. Labor is the superior of capital, and deserves much the higher consideration.
