Jeremy Affeldt, SF Giants Relief Pitcher, will be granting me an interview by phone or email and so I as usual I will take a question or 2 from the best submitted here.

Jeremy Affeldt sure loves Jesus! I didn't know this, so I think all Christians should buy one of his jerseys to support him.

I would ask Mr. Affeldt that since he is a strong advocate for ending child poverty, has he asked any current or former teammates to give him money so he can donate it to poor children? Perhaps Tim Lincecum could help out a homeless San Franciscan child instead of spending it on marijuana!

In his opinion, how much of Albert Pujols' salary should be given to poor people?

Would Jesus Christ like any of the rich Christians in baseball?

Also, I'm curious if Mr. Affeldt has noticed an effect on batting averages of players who cross themselves at the plate and/or point to the sky versus those who do not? I would venture a guess that it is significant, but perhaps he knows more.

Oh, another question. Ask him how he donates his 10% of his salary to church on Sundays? I usually pay in cash, but if I made $4,000,000 per year, that would be kind of hard to do! Thank you Rick, and God Bless!

1) He's pretty active on social media like Twitter himself. What are his thoughts on it? Is it completely accepted (or even a necessity, in terms of promotion) in clubhouses? Does the front office still look down on it? Is it unique with each player?

2) Not to be too "Tadlike" or confrontational, but Affeldt recently got tattooed. I would ask him, since he's a Christian athlete, what are his thoughts about Christians (and not "dabblers" or part-time Christians) getting tattooed? He probably knows what it says about tattoos in the Bible (Leviticus 19:28, had to look it up), so does he feel it depends on how "appropriate" or "tasteful" a tattoo is? Whether it "honors God" or not? I'm sure there's a historical context to that verse, but when it states that in the Bible and so-called "Christian athletes" (not questioning his faith at all) seemingly go against it, how does he feel about that?

3) The biggest misconception people have about Jeremy Affeldt is.......?

4) What are his thoughts on sabermetrics? Is he in the HoustonGM school of thought which values a player based on sabermetrics? Does he believe in concepts like "clutch" or "clubhouse chemistry"? What's he thinkin' 'bout with those sabermetrics?

5) How about some random thoughts? You list 5-10 things (in one question) and get his random, brief thoughts on them. Could be teammates, teams, or completely random items. Maybe have him describe some of his teammates in one word only (you could use that for future interviews as well).

I am looking forward to this interview Rick. Jeremy Affeldt is a talented young pitcher. He's left-handed and he has a good arm. I actually haven't seen him play yet, but he is talented and has potential. I'd like you to ask him who he considers the best second baseman of all-time. If he gets this question wrong, personally I'm not interested in the rest of the interview. I do like San Francisco though, so you could tell him that if you want.

very cool insight on how a RP prepares for an appearance. I don't think he would do this for every game, naturally, as some games he would be ruled "unavailable". I would like to think that all Nats pitchers take the same approach to warming up on the days they are available.
