Well, tnat's what he gets paid for...

Couldn't believe I had to use my closer to protect what was a 12 run lead in the ninth inning:

    Code:
Toronto Blue Jays at Texas Rangers
    September 6, 2004

                         1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 + R H E
         Blue Jays (TOR) 0 1 0 0 0 1 2 0 9 13 20 0
           Rangers (TEX) 3 0 1 010 1 0 1 x 16 20 0

At the end of the eighth, Texas leads 16 to 4.

    TOP OF THE NINTH
Jose Vidro flied out to left. <--->
Jay Payton singled down the third base line. <--1>
Emil Brown homered down the left-field line for two RBIs. <--->
David Hulse pinch hit for Erick Threets. <--->
David Hulse doubled into the left field corner. <-2->
Nick Masset now pitching for the Rangers. <-2->
Russ Adams doubled to left-center, scoring a run. <-2->
Hector Ortiz singled up the middle, scoring a run. <--1>
Mike Lamb singled through the right side. <-21>
Manny Ramirez was hit by a pitch. <321>
Damaso Marte now pitching for the Rangers. <321>
Daryle Ward popped up to short. <321>
Jose Vidro hit an infield single to the second baseman, scoring a run. <321>
Juan Morillo now pitching for the Rangers. <321>
Jay Payton homered over the left field fence for a grand slam. <--->
Emil Brown singled down the left field line. <--1>
Brian Wolfe now pitching for the Rangers. <--1>
David Hulse lined out to the second baseman. <--1>

    RANGERS WIN: 16-13
Being September I put in the AAA guys after the 7th, but the last 3 relievers were bullpen regulars. Sheesh.

lol .. I have see the Reds relief staff blow it too many times by 3 and 4 runs but at least you got that win.

I see you produced 10 runs yourself in the 5th. Was there a hurricane blowing out to center field that game?

Could be. Some innings seem to get stuck in can't get 'em out mode. By the way, the Rangers blanked the Jays 16-0 the next game.

One thing I keep watching for is a game where a team scores in every inning. Haven't seen it yet.
