    Worst injury?

What is the worst injury that you have ever seen? Today, Yadier Molina suffered a torn rotator cuff in my game and will miss 15 months (469 days).

I thought I have seen 16 months, but I looked back over a few years and only saw a few 15 months, all for Rotator Cuff which seems to be the "worst" injury you can have in this game. Severed knee/elbow ligaments can cost you a year. Broken backs/necks/wrists can be bad too (6-9 months I'd say).

SPs Arodys Vizcaino & Bret Shane both missed 16 months with torn rotator cuffs in a league I'm in

The "worst injury" you can have is a max of 500 days... even though I hope someday, eventually the injury time will be more variable (i.e. a player on the 15-day DL could suffer a setback and be out longer, or a player could respond to "surgery" [a long-term injury] much better with a higher health rating).

I think the worst I've seen was probably a hangnail, broken nail, or sore eyelash. Nothing too bad... 300 days or so.

I tell you what all Torn rotator Cuff injuries are very bad. But usually If you suffer a broken back I would say that your career is mostly over. Just as an example Pro Wrestler Shawn Michaels suffered a broken back in his wrestling career and let me tell you he was in a lot of pain. Your back never fully heals after you break it. But guys there is also another injury you forgot to talk about and that one is when a pitcher has to get Tommy John surgery done. There are a lot of baseball players out there who end up retiring too early in their careers because they lose their velecity so fast after the tommy john surgery. Look at former Phillies Prospect kyle drabek he had a great career ahead of him but after he had the tommy john surgery I don't think that he will be be a great prospect even though he's early yet in his career. Time will tell but I think he will still have a promising career but I don't think his career will be like nolan ryan or like Roy holliday.

That's true in real life, but it's not in the game. While a "torn elbow ligament" would probably require Tommy John surgery in the game, it's just a specific amount of time that the player is out, and then they come back, so nothing "requires" surgery. Also, velocity in the game is cosmetic anyway and never changes.

The Torn Rotator Cuff can be career ending in the game. They'll be out for 15 months or whatever but when they comeback their RTG will be so low that nobody will want them anyone. Sometimes it will bounce back after awhile but alot of times it won't.
