    2010 NFL Talk

A few thoughts on this coming NFL season.

Brian Westbrook signed by the 49ers, I think its a great signing and a huge upgrade over the recently retired Coffee, even if he puts up similar numbers to last years injury riddled campaign.

Ok Al Davis seriously needs to step down. You know I read an article last year by a writer in the LA Times saying that Al Davis does nothing but watches old film on the Raiders of the 70's and 80's while drinking ensure, or something like that. Of course he was being funny, but now after Davis saying that Campbell reminds him of Plunkett, I totally believe it to be true.

The only way Tebow will be successful in the NFL as a QB, is if you build an offense that plays to his abilities. Is that even possible in todays NFL?

Eliminate St. Louis and Cleveland already. Or move St. Louis to LA and merge Jacksonville's and Cleveland's squads. Cleveland would still probably suck.

Jets are so ridiculously overrated. Sanchez had a worse turnover rating than Stafford in Detroit. Great D only gets you so far, you need great QB play to win the Super Bowl.

    First coach to get canned?

Eric Mangina oops. You know that Cleveland coach.

Dude really you want the Browns to move away from Cleveland after it already happened? Especially in the year when Lebron's in Miami? You want the city to be burned down???

Revis is vastly overrated and should not be the highest paid corner in the game. He's a top 3, but he's being hyped up as the best defender, which he's not, because there's a guy name Willis in SF and two guys name Polamalu and Woodley in Pittsburgh and a corner name Asomugha in Oakland who knows throws to because he's a black hole.

Jets suck, I hope they finish 6-10.

Cedric Benson still sucks, and the Bungles even with the upgrades are still a horrible team to watch. They have a good defense though.

I hope Tebow succeeds because it's fun to watch the way he plays. I still hate Vince Young because of the Superbowl.

L.A does not want the Rams back. We want a new team. We have like 5 stadiums NFL.

I hope Al Davis stays because everyone hates the Raiders.

    Westbrook's old and I think he's 30+ but I didn't check but I'm still pretty sure.

Big Ben's douche status risen making me almost hate him on the Steelers. The only Steeler I dislike is James Harrison and that's only if he was on another team.

The Ratbirds, Bungles, and Brownies can go suck it.

    Ben is a douche.

Willis is the best defender. Revis is the best Corner.

    Yes burn Cleveland down.

I didn't think Tebow looked very bad in his pre-season opener. Yeah, he reverted back to his old throwing motion when he was on the run. But mentally and physically, he's got it.

Certainly other QB's like McCoy and Clausen looked worse.

And Revis is better then Aso.

They don't throw at Champ Bailey either but I don't think Champ is better then Revis.

Aso is pure coverage, if you look at blanketing WR's then yeah I'd say he's better but Revis is more complete, stronger, and faster.

You can't just look at one facet of a CB.

    Just on those points...

I think the Raiders might gain the most wins vs last year. But in spite of Davis not because of him.

You picked the Jets to win the tough AFC East....I think the Pats still have enough.

And Mangenius goes early....but will have no affect on the team, they still suck.

I don't see why I can't, because I'll rather have a cb that can blanket a WR more than any other CB? Isn't that like, what's a CB supposed to do?

No, that's a CB's job on man coverage during a passing play.

I'd rather have a CB who can do anything we can ask him as a defender.

Which is why I believe Champ Bailey is still a top 5 CB in the league. He's by far the best tackler at the position and the Broncos can send him on blitzes knowing he has a nose for the tackle.

On defense, your position isn't as defined as people make it out to be, I'm sorry. Looking at one facet of a defender is like looking at fielding percentage of a shortstop. It doesn't show you everything that guy can do.

I know you hate the Jets, and Revis is a bit overrated. But the kid is incredible at everything the CB position offers.

The sound on my ESPN is broken. But I can see a lot of Brett Favre ass kissing.

Ok then, but if I want a coverage CB I'll pick Aso over Revis any day. If I want a CB that's not as good in coverage but better in run support, I'll pick Revis.

But until Revis is being thown to as many times as Aso in a season, I'll still say Aso's better. I don't know about his run support since his coverage is always the thing being hyped up but I can't see if he's anything below average.

It's not as good as Revis'.

Let's just say this: Revis and Aso would be outstanding teammates.
