"Mogul going to hell...People coming and buying OOTP"

guess that started the conversation when you used that on the ootp forums, but just that one guy talked about it. I'm curious, when you say going to hell, do you mean we are un-godly?
If you find yourself agreeing with Glenn Beck, odds are pretty good you're wrong.

    From this thread:

It's not a guilt thing, it's a comment. Your thread is asking if the "maturity" of the board makes mogul lose customers and the consensus has been no, talk of OOTP has done more than an immature poster ever will.

While I agree that OOTP talk would do more to deter customers than immature posters, I personally don't think that either has an effect large enough to worry about. OOTP and Mogul, while the same genre, are different games, and many people do play both.

Personally, while the maturity level is higher on the OOTP boards, I haven't been impressed with them overall. Now, I haven't posted much there, but when I have, I've rarely gotten useful responses. Maybe it's the issues I've posted about (awards missing, questions about ERA+/OPS+).... but here, a question about the game rarely goes unanswered.

I dunno--maybe this board is a tad immature but honestly I don't notice. I hang out in the general discussions, suggestions, bug reports, and online leagues forums and for the most part people seem more than mature enough. I can't really comment on the off topic areas.

The one time I sent a report about an offensive user name it was taken care of immediately. So basically I have no complaints about the forums whatsoever.
I saw Andre Dawson. And let me tell you something. There were only two players in my lifetime whose teammates held them in awe. One was Mickey Mantle. The other was Andre Dawson. If you were around, if you saw them play, you know that. But the numbers don't tell you that.

If you don't spend time in Sports Talk/Ejections/OiLF, you won't notice it.

Then I'll argue the point that whatever goes on in these areas shouldn't be costing SM any customers.

You know, thinking about this a little more made me realize that I think the order of the forums on this board our way out of whack. Announcements are at the very bottom? If it were up to me I'd put those at the top followed by your flagship (ie BM) product, then other products, then finally the off topic areas.

I would too, although Announcements has been used twice since 2006.

I believe this was brought up a few times a while back.

Guys if you want to prevent people to switching over to OOTP you guys gotta stop talking about it. Seriously whats with all these OOTP threads here, some people see then and think OOTP is better, google it and there it is. so dont come complaining that there are trolls causing trouble and that turns people away, yeah maybe trolls take people away from the forums, but that is not the major problem. Whats witht the bbm vs ootp thread, isnt that driving away customers? isnt that thread making sense to people that their is a better game out there, ootp is way better way thought out than mogul. Only mogul will be always caterized as a fun game to play. When you compare mogul and ootp, ootp is like a 9.3 and bbm is like a 7.8, Clay shouldnt b worring about you guys on the forum and you'll complaining and focus on making mogul a better game.
