It's not weird. If I had to pick one team to win, I'd pick the Yankees. However, if I had to pick whose more likely to win - one of the other 26 teams or one of the Yanks/Red Sox/Phils/Cards, I'd pick the field.

I won't vote in this poll (because it's sort of ridiculous to expect a 1 and 30 chance of a victor) but if I were to vote for one team, I would take the Yankees simply because their team is the best built for the long regular season, and a pitching staff primed for the post season.

This is probably the smartest way to go. Whenever the poll is set up as "A", "B" or "the field", you're generally better off going with "the field" as it's statistically more likely to occur.
