    Gotta love it.

Finger says: And maybe that’s why some of those numbers guys don’t like Polanco? He’s the kind of guy who makes stats about as valuable as the paper they’re printed on.

When Tango has already polled numbers guys...

I thought most people hated the contract more than they hated Polanco. Also, his numbers are good for a 2B, but below average for a 3B.

Sound like John R. Finger is a made up person ....

But also that he fails to grasp the difference between liking a player and liking the situation they are put in/contract they are given.

Most "number guys" like/appriciate a player like Adam Dunn ... but if a team signed him to a 5/100m contract to play 3rd base it would be panned a an awful idea ... but it wouldn't really have a bearing on how they felt about Dunn.

Polanco is pretty overrated and not really worth 18 mil if you're going to take his primary asset (phenomenal defense) and put that in jeopardy by moving his position, whilst completely misreading the market and spending about $15 mil you didn't need to.

It's amazing how low critical thinking skills are these days. None of what I just said indicated that I don't like Polanco, or that I think he sucks. He is a good player, and I liked having him on the Tigers.
    Illini.

Yeah I need a Winn-Dixie grocery bag full of money right next to the VIP section...

    i always loved Polanco.

But in terms of going into 2010, I would rather have Lopez over Polanco. And how big a difference is their pay and the organizations commitment?

    1 yr./ $1 MM for Lopez (shouldn't you know that ) and 3 yr./ $18 MM for Polanco.

I knew the answer, I was just asking the question for someone to think of both contracts.
