Lakers/Cardinals/Patriots/Penguins
I was looking for the old thread on this - but I guess it was just in the MLB talk thread or something.
Nomar will sign for 1 day with the Sox to retire as a member of the team, making him eligible for their hall of fame. He will then seek employment as an analyst, but will miss significant time due to injury.
Hats off Nomar, you were the man for a long time. I will never forget the double-header, dual-grand-slam birthday you had in '02 or '03. My drummer had 'NOMAR IS GOD' on his drumset the rest of that year.
I always hate seeing guys like Nomar that had great success early in their career fizzle out. Seven or eight years ago he looked like a lock for the Hall of Fame, but then it all fell apart.
Anyways, I'm glad he's going to retire as a Red Sox and is going to come on as an analyst. Boston is where he belongs.

sweet. no more watching him screw with his batting gloves for 5 minutes before each pitch.
Nomar sucked back then and he's even crappier now. Good riddance. Wake me when someone good retires. Like Mike Sweeney or something.
It was a good run, he will be missed.
