When the other team punts and the ball comes down inside the 10, even inside the 5 my guy always catches it leaving me with a 1st and 10 on the 3 or whatever. Is there anything I can set in the game so that he lets it bounce into the endzone giving me a 1st and 10 in the 20 (as would happen in real life) ? There is a strategy box in BBM for such things but I can't find one in FBM.

Since your receiver is a Rb; Fb: or WR, you might consider editing his predicted rushing stats (if you don't want to "cheat" you could reduce his other attribute ratings, proportionately). A guy who's predicted to average umpteen yards ber carry, it seems to me, is hardly likely to hang about near his goal-line, once he has the ball.

Thanks I was hoping I wouldn't have to resort to something like that. Has this been resolved in the newer versions of FB?

The quality of the running back isn't the problem, a return man DOESN'T field punts inside his 10 yard line if he wants to keep his job. He let's the ball bounce into the endzone for a touchback.

Because something is not in the game it doesn't mean it's a bug. It is something that needs to be added though. I was hoping by FB10 it had been addressed.

Not fixed by FM10. In fact very little control over the return man himself is provided; he will fair catch or try to return every ball, something the kids learn not to do inside the 10clear down in kiddie ball. Not a bug as much as a control not provided.
