    Combining seasons

Can I make a league with the past 16 Super Bowl Participants?

    Question Re: Combining seasons

Dave, do you mean manned by the players that each team possessed at the time?

I would think so, for although the 16 are readily found in today's leagues, some of the present teams would be poor competition in a League of past champions & contenders - the Bucs spring to mind...a few years ago, they were Champs - in 2009, not so much.

I want them all in one season though. Like baseball's version of League Builder.

I think that it could be done with the FM2010 app...helluva lotta work though, Dave...the two most recent participants Colts & Saints would be comparatively easy, the personnel in the BM year would probably feature most of the players who will take part in tomorrow's Super Bowl, so you wouldn't have to insert the authentic guys from Sunday's game, but the further back you go in time, the more changing of personnel that you would have to do...for example, if you wanted to feature those Championship 'Bucs that I mentioned, as playing with the other Superteams in BM's 2009 year, I believe that you would have to change every player in the BM2009 team into the ones who won it all in 2002 - I doubt if there is one 'Buc player left in today's Tampa Bay org, who was part of that Championship team

So, you would have to edit something like 5,000 players or more to create your Super Bowl league, Dave...or you could wait to see what FM2011 brings!

For what it's worth, Football Outsiders ranks that Bucs team 2nd in total team DVOA against all other Super Bowl winners since (1st being the Pats' SB XXXIX team)

Wasn't trying to bust your balls Rangar, but that TB defense is criminally underrated these days

Wouldn't that be great to have the ability to extract teams from each season of interest and let them compete in one league for one season. 16/24/32 this process should work for any number of teams from the 1970 to date list.

Exactly. That is what I would like to do!

Why edit "5,000 players?" 16 teams would be no more than 1600 players. Even if you picked the best from all 32 teams, that's no more than 3200 players, and the examples for every team are in the set -- don't have to guess. Just wondering where the "5,000" came from?

How did you think we would get all these teams into one season set? We (I say that boldly as I have never edited a single file) will have to edit all but one or two of the teams, depending on the ones selected.

No you do not edit players. In baseball mogul there is league builder where you can pick historical teams to be in one league otr there is a way to do it in excel. I want to do the same in football mogul.

Don't we all, Dave..? But as I wrote in a previous post, we will have to wait on Clay, for that....it'll come down the pike next year...?...sometime...? ...never?

Meanwhile, if we want it badly enough, we will have to fend for ourselves, and edit. Never mind, Dave...Blaupanzer has corrected my original estimate of 5,000 players...you will have only to edit a mere 1600 players...'twill pass the time during t.v. commercials

Lemme see, Blau ...(fishes out his rusty abacus) ...yeah, 5,000 does seem a bit strong, don't it? ...must've been dreaming of my income -tax refund.

Your estimate of 1600 sounds nearer the mark ...thanks for the correction
