you're about 20 hours behind man
haha, wow. Is BingleBop your source too?
I know he was pretty excited yesterday.
lol. Signing Mauer for 10 years doesn't even seem like a great idea.
It's a mistake if he does, obviously he should sign with he yankees to replace posada
Be more concerned with your character than your reputation, because your character is what you really are, while your reputation is merely what others think you are .
Yeah, this rumor was shot down a half hour after it was reported... a day ago.![]()
If (more like when) he signs a long-term extension, I'm going to be quite pleased. It's good for baseball that more small market teams are holding on to their stars.

cmon, you guys are good. I thought i'd lead SOMEONE on at least a lil bit. I did miss the discussion on it yesterday though
doesn't the "10 years" kind of give it away?

I wonder about this with Milwaukee and Fielder. I have seen us trade away just about every good player we ever had. Vaughn, Burnitz, Sexson, Lee, etc, etc. At the same time it is being said that Fielder is demand at least 20 million on the FA market. Our payroll is currently at 80 million which is it's highest in history. Anttansio has shown a willingness to spend money. But a team like Milwaukee can only go so high payroll wise. How much sense does it make to have a player eating up a quarter of your payroll, no matter how good he is?? Even with Fielder last year we only won 80 games. I wonder how we would be better off? Trading him for some good prospects or resigning him and possibly ending any payroll flexibility we would have for years?
Labor is prior to, and independent of, capital. Capital is only the fruit of labor, and could never have existed if labor had not first existed. Labor is the superior of capital, and deserves much the higher consideration.

i would not give Prince a 20 mil per long term contract personally. Don't like the health concerns and I think I can find less risky value at 1B. Mauer is quite a bit different, though I'd be leary about a contract longer than 4 years with him either. The shorter the better.
I would trade both if i held their cards in those markets.
