The Mets will acquire Gary Matthews Jr. and cash from the Angels for Brian Stokes. Matthews, who receives $500K for being traded, is set to make $11MM in 2010 and $12MM in 2011. The Angels will pick up all but $2MM of the $23.5MM remaining on the deal.

GREAT move for the mets. basicly a mil a year!!! Omar did good on this one... who cares if he is junk, BENCH players dont cost as little as 1 mill per year!!!

This is not a "buy low" opportunity. A "buy low" opportunity would be like the Yankees acquiring Nick Swisher last year. This is a "buy a shitty player opportunity when you have better in-house options and better players could be freely acquired on similar or cheaper deals."
