Finally read that about what all Yount said.

I always liked Yount. I like him even more now!

    You forgot the hashish.

    The best statement by Yount.

"They were put in a very tough seat, that group (of players) during that period," Yount said. "That's why I look at it more as a period or an era. To me, it's no different from the dead-ball era or when they lowered the mound or raised the mound. People who understand the game and who are historians of the statistics will understand that it was a period in time where that was going on and it had something to do with the numbers being inflated.

"And that's the way I look at it personally. There's a side of me that doesn't really hold it against those guys when there was no testing.

"But I'll tell you, I'd be the first one to jump all over somebody who was caught doing it now that testing is in place and they're out there breaking records.

Too bad your team denied him a ring. Best player without a ring in my very biased opinion.

Always. As a kid I used to ride my bike to county stadium and wait in the parking lot for the players to exit. Yount always had the biggest crowd around him, but he would stay and sign for the kids first. A class act.

    Cobb didn't.

Considering Bonds has an argument for being the best position player ever and the other guy in competition with him won a few World Series and Bonds never won any, I think it's clearly Bonds, though. And Bonds gets bonus points for the best World Series offensive performance in history.

    Neither did Bobby Parnell. Unacceptable.
