Re: Adding a "captcha" to registration

A few crazy ideas to try and stop spammers:

1)Ban sigs? If they can't post links in their sigs that should cut down on spam somewhat

    2) Requirement of 20 posts before you are allowed to start a new thread.

    3)Mods? Please?

4)Crazy crazy unrealistic idea... maybe if things get too crazy at some point down the road, just bar any new users from joining the forums

I'd have no problem with any of the others, but you can't do #4 because this forum is support for Baseball Mogul.

Banning sigs wouldn't help. They'd just put links in posts (as a lot do anyway)

You can't keep someone from making threads before a certain number of posts, because a lot of people register just to ask one question about Mogul, or file a bug report, or something like that.

Well, if you also adopt the "no new members" suggestion, that little technicality ceases to be a problem, no?
