Nevermind that metsguy is ridiculously inconsistent here. He hated Adam Dunn and argued that Juan Pierre was better but then suddenly switched to liking Adam Dunn because he walks and hits home runs and, if I recall correctly, complained that more people here and in real life didn't have Adam Dunn somewhere on their MVP ballot. This is because he "doesn't care for defense", either. Of course, it really doesn't matter what metsguy "cares for" because what he "cares for" doesn't determine what players are actually better. I don't care if you or anybody likes Bret Boone more than Bobby Grich and thinks Bret Boone is cooler...but don't turn that into "Bret Boone is just as good as Bobby Grich" because that's flat out false and stupid.
Like I said, this was just an exercise to show people how good Bret Boone actually is/how bad Bobby Grich actually is.

Well, it failed, because everybody except you knows that Bret Boone was, overall, an average player that had 2 superb seasons and Bobby Grich was an excellent player that was among the best second basemen in the game for his entire career (whether or not they believe he's a HoFer).

Then why has no one really ever known about Bobby Grich? Why didn't he get HOF votes?

Wrong. It's "game, set, match" or "checkmate". Combining the two of them just sounds retarded.

I don't know what this means. A lot of people have known about Bobby Grich. You used awards in your argument "for" Boone. Grich made 6 ASG's, twice as many as Boone. He won 4 Gold Gloves, 1 more than Boone. He received MVP votes in 5 years (2 more than Boone).

He did. Why didn't he get more than he did? Because he has a great make up for an underrated player - low offensive environment, value from walks and defense.

    Fail.

Keep trolling though. This is absolutely hysterical.

Also, asking people if Bret Boone is a Hall of Famer (a completely insane proposition) is a very weird way to try and prove that he's better than Bobby Grich. lol.

I do it jokingly though. I try to portray a clever character, who is a constant contrarian and ignorant about everything. Sometimes I post out of character, however. Those are my more logical, reasonable posts.
