awww
I was kind of hoping for a few more, but it makes total sense that he would....other than more strike outs there aren't really any career totals that he can try to achieve anymore.
he could probably play another year and get another 125 k's?
I highly doubt anyone else reaches 5000 strike outs in our lifetimes.
I remember a friend of mine in 6th grade went to an Expos game and got his rookie card signed. I think he gave it away when Randy went to the Mariners. I wanted to watch him pitch live, but at least the birds are safe now.
hahahaa
saw him pitch a couple times live. the one I recall was a 1-0 Yankee win over the Sox in the bronx. RJ vs. Tim Wakefield...great duel. Wake gave up a solo shot to a juiced Giambi in the 6th i think. Matchup was significant because late in the season Tito didn't play a hot Ortiz. Papi came in to pinch hit in the 9th and the Yanks countered by bringing in the Sandman. Stadium was rocking!!
It's official: http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=4799462
Back at this dynasty thing again: Resurrecting The Rockies: 2001 Onward
Has always been one of my favorite pitchers. I'll miss the ol' ugly *******.
I have seen him pitch at least 4 times in my life....that I can specifically recall.
First time I saw him pitch was as a Mariner in Kansas City - http://www.baseball-reference.com/bo...99508110.shtml
Saw him pitch against the Cards as an Astro - http://www.baseball-reference.com/bo...99809230.shtml
As a Diamondback in Wrigley - http://www.baseball-reference.com/bo...00004300.shtml
And as a D'Back in St. Louis - http://www.baseball-reference.com/bo...00104180.shtml
I may have seen him more, but I don't remember the games at all to be sure. I remember most was his crazy long stride....and that Wrigley was falling a part then, I can't imagine it's much better since then...oh wait........it isn't.
That equals 29 innings, 4 earned and quite a few strike outs.
wow, that is 41 k's that I can there....how many 10 strike out games did this guy have in his career?
The night he struck out 19 and lost was pretty awesome. McGwire crushed a 99 MPH FB that night too. One of the greatest home runs I've ever seen.
quick trivia, what team did he beat the most in his career? and what team beat him the most in his career?
