Tiger Woods to Take Indefinite Leave from Golf

I am I am sure the minority here,,, but I wnat to know WHY he did it. Look there is no reason for cheating on someone but some people just are not a fit. Just a warning it's about to get crude. If he is cheating on his wife do to sexual problems at home, for example him not getting any or just a total lack of what he is looking for sexualy, that is NOT his fault and looking outside a relationship is, tho not acceptable, sometimes a nessicary evil to keep people together. Now on that note... having sex with a dozen different women is not the answer tho. My point here is not to point blame at him or her but sometimes things just are not going to work. Closet gay men for example, need certain "stimulations" that they may not get from a woman, but having extra-marrital affairs with a man can very often keep them happily in a marrage with a woman.

I am not saying Tiger is gay, but we have no idea about his REAL personal life (and we shouldn't) really is. This obviously looks bad as it looks like he was just having sex with whatever women he wanted, which does kind of make him a jerk... but before we know every detail let us not cast judgement on him.

On the actual situation... who the **** cares... its not our buisness. We have preists having sex with young boys, people selling drugs to kids, teanage drinking running rampant, People going crazy and shooting up schools, offices, militay bases... don't we have better things to occupy our news time then one guys love affair... oh thats right it sells ad space durring the newscast

What?? If you marry someone and then aren't attracted to them...it is a "necessary evil" to go around cheating on your wife?!?!?!??!

Uhhhhhhhhhh I guess as long as they are BOTH welcome to sleep with other people then...but something tells me that if Tiger had come home form the Masters one day and found his wife getting pounded by Phil Mickelson..he might not have been "okay" with it.

or maybe Woods has no respect for anyone but himself? he's a narcissist. that said....career wise the best thing he can do for himself is get back on the course and separate from his wife. I applaud him and his wife for trying to make it work...if in fact that is his true intentions. Somehow I think his intentions however are more selfish. Not wanting to fail at anything, etc.

Amongst golf fans, which are largely male....i don't think the majority will really care. He'll never get even close to the woman following he once had however.

I actually believe he will still have a woman following. Just won't be the mom crowd (they all follow twilight, which is creepy in a whole different way). OJ killed 2 people (or at least was in on it) and still was able to get women of the same ilk.
I don't really understand why this is such a big deal (although our society tries to hold to some sort of puritan type values....even though American culture is far from that). I never saw him really cultivating an image unless you consider his image to be a frat boy (guy told interesting, cursed like a trucker and still hit clubs into the ground...and obviously nailed woman). I saw him a bit like Michael Jordan....a role model on the court but off the court he was just a man. Jordan gambled, slept around and couldn't hit a curveball if it hit him in the face.
Of course I never look towards celebrities as people to look up to (apart from what they do in their chosen profession).
One curious thing...i'm wondering if there isn't more to this story. If maybe Tiger and his wife had a open relationship and the trashy girl (who ironically was a reality show veteran) was blackmailing or something. Cause even though it seems as though everybody would believe that a marriage has only one definition. There are people out there who don't believe that.
It's pretty sad when something like this is on the CNN front page. I mean thank god they stopped talking about the 2 wars we are in, the still crappy economy and the president who doesn't seem to be the same man from a year a go. (insert sarcasm).

If I was that good at a sport, I wouldn't be giving up my sports career for a woman unless she was a real catch. Seeing as he cheated on her coutless times, she obviously isn't that catch. I'd get out if I was Tiger, and I wouldn't blame him.

Ive always thought of marriage as stupid. If you truly love the person you are with, you dont have to prove anything with a goddam ring on the finger.

In Tiger's case, its even more stupid to get married in his position with all the money and power you hold. Bad choice IMO. Im not saying he is right for doing all the **** he done to her, but its pretty typical in the position he is in for the infidelity to happen.

Also I really have no remorse for the wifey either, because simply its all about the money to me as to why she got married to Tiger. Thats what it comes down to in the end. All about the Benjamins with celebrities. After all, thats why you dont see Jennifer Anistons marrying the blue collared Joe's in this world.

Exactly. If you make a life commitment to your wife, then you stay with them and if you can't for some reason, then you end it before you go messing around.

But its more than just a wife: Tiger has two kids. When you have kids, your #1 priority in your life is not your career or yourself or anything, but raising your children in way that will give them the best possible life. Doing this is a complete lack of respect for his family and is pretty disgusting. Thats not "Puritan Values" as some posters have declared: thats common decency for a life that YOU brought into the world and YOU are responsible for as a parent.
