Plus I do believe that would open up a can of worms (bugs and bad AI moves) if draft pick trading was allowed.

This is one of the worst, even though very common, features in leagues. I like that it's tough on the commissioners who allow it. It should be.

I like this idea. I'd also like to see all injuries, not just two+ week ones.

Yes. If for no other reason than to control the insane demands from IFs, power hitters, and some pitchers without having to lower contract demands for everyone else.

My own additions, as a league only player:

Separate Road/Home lineups and Strategy Settings (both optional). If I'm in a very big or very small stadium, I need different settings at home than on the road.

Teams, not the commissioner, set a rest frequency for players. Better, ability to set a player to rest on a specific day.

Allow the AI to call up a (designated) minor league player when a major league player is injured. In leagues we often sim 14-15 days at a time, and often end up with 24, 23, or even 22 man rosters due to injuries.

Allow the creation of alternate lineups for injuries, or let us specify where we want a substitute to to play. This might seem like overkill unless you have a power hitting catcher at 3, 4, 5 in the order, and the game rests him and puts the 3 HR guy in that spot. Or a .330 leadoff hitter whose substitute bats .240. Sort for injuries doesn't work right, the AI has very different values than human players do.

Pinch hitting/bench order needs to be fixed. When we set the bench order, the AI shouldn't consider it to be just a gentle suggestion. It should follow the bench order exactly.

Designate which players are the pinch runners and defensive replacements, and which ones should be replaced. Again, the AI isn't too swift at making these decisions.

    Last but not least:

Bring Back The Play By Play Sim Speed Slider, please, please, please. Also, give us the ability to turn off the PBP graphics.

Some leagues host netmeetings at playoff time, and in GM mode the plays fly past too fast to see, and the owners can be up to 2 full innings behind. During this, the updates can stop completely for an inning or three, or lose up to 95% of the data packets, at which point the graphics get broken up into mosaic fragments of mismatched color and body parts.

In 2k4 we just slowed down the sim speed, and everyone could see what was happening when it was happening.

Long time baseball mogul nut here...

    1. Make a truly "Instant" option in the play by play mode. ie. A way to turn OFF the animation. I'd like to play a game in about 2-3 minutes.
    2. An option to import Negro League or Japan League players.
    3. A way to check OTHER teams' trading blocks. Maybe a window at the bottom that shows highly rated players on the 'block', in a similar fashion to the section that show injured players.
    4. Show historical NO HITTERS. Who has the most over a career, season, etc.

That's just off the top of my head!

Couple that seem as if they would be simple:

    1) (mentioned a few times but this to me would be really good). Just make it so the "Hide Overall" button really works. Playing off stats only would be very fun.

    2) Is it possible to make "Errors" an official stat category. There are so many defensive metrics that I dont understand... i'd just like to see what teams/players make the most errors

I dont know how difficult it would be to write the code for this, but it would be nice to get the average stats of players who start so many games at a position. This would make FA compensation a lot easier to do and it is similar to how the do it in real life.

For instance: Take all the 3b who started over 30 games. Be able to get their average stats. Even better, be able to get a average stat line for someone in the top 25% at the position. This way you can have a clear look at how stats compare with the entire league and determine if a player is worthy of compensation.

i would like to see star players last beyond 32-34yrs old.

also would like to see established stars not lose thier job to computer created players.

last but not least would like to have a minimum amount of games played in the minors to be set. Nothing worse than an 17-18yr old player being injected into the starting line up

How about the ability to play PBP spring training, and some position battles. And, how about finally changing Bank One Ballpark to Chase Field. ;-)
No matter how good you are, you're going to lose one-third of your games. No matter how bad you are you're going to win one-third of your games. It's the other third that makes the difference.

I played a 50 Cubs dynasty into the late 70s. The only edit I did was to convert Ernie Banks to a SS and give him his real life fielding stats.

Ernie began for me in 1950 and I signed Eddie Matthews as a free agent in 1955. Mickey Mantle played his whole career for the AI Yankees and Willie Mays played his whole career for the AI Giants except for his last two years hanging on on with the Indians.

Matthews bailed out at 38, Banks at 41, Mays at 42, and Mantle at 44. The four of them dominated the career power hitting stats and Mantle had a virtual lock on the AL MVP. Mays got a few NL MVP, but had to share with Banks and Matthews.

Aaron never seemed to get off the ground.

Gene Freese was a surprise star for several teams.

(I didn't read all the posts so work with me)

I think the things I want to see changed, or added in BM11 is definately the Ammy Draft being re-worked. There should without a doubt be Compensation picks, you know, Type A, and Type B free-agents. Also, the draft classes could get somewhat more accurate. Not every player that ever played in the MLb entered the draft at 17 or 18 yrs old. There are plenty of sites out there that have the exact draft order of every Ammy draft in MLB history(Baseball-reference, and don't BM and BR work together some?)...I'm sure you can work it out somehow that the drafts are more accurate as to when players really were drafted.

    I also like this: http://sportsmogul.com/vbulletin/sho...39#post1436639

Hmm... not sure what this means? Draftees range widely from age 16 to 22

You can just adjust the longevity and peak end options and get players lasting the normal amount.

Personally I find this happens extremely rarely and I think its cool to see a young players get up to the bigs quickly (especially with so many that get stuck in the system until 26 or so)...

    Pre-1900s mode.

And for some reason, Tampa Bay didn't automatically change its name to the Rays in 2008 for me, despite that being the setting, I didn't even notice until 2058, so unless it is just me, that is something that could be fixed.

The big money teams keep signing free agents and creating log jams in their system with premium veterans in AAA. Their developing stars tend to begin regular play around 27 years old.

The small money teams quickly lose their big stars and field a mix of washed up veterans and minor league guys promoted too early.

Done for BB2K11 (I realize this is a small change).

Still looking for an unretire button to be included, so you can bring back players into an already existing season.

Expanded free agent pool to include retired players.

Extended minor league rosters not just 11 pitcher and 14 batters for triple AAA. Most organizations have more players that are not on their current rosters.

Accurate schedule creator; not one that randomizes teams.
