Interesting article
I cant see the braves giving up 5 pitchers. i woudnt mind Medlen+ Freeman+Vizcaino and another low level non pitcher but Medelen is MLB ready and Freeman might even be this year, if not next year.
If they feel Freddy is the future then dont trade for Gonzo. I dont wnat to see this turn into another Texeria deal where we give up 2/3 of our best prospects, only to lose him the next year. If heyward is what they thing he is and what they are saying he is... let HIM be the Gonzo and then let Freddy mature for another year. We are not the Best team in the League with or without him tho he will prob be the difference in the 90+ win total. I have the Braves around 88-89 wins with Philly around 87-88. With Gonzo we break 90-91 in my opinion. But then what in 1.5-2 years we trade all our young guys for ANOTHER 1B? I am tired of it. Nut up, decide if you are willing to pay 15-20 mill for a 1B in 2 years (which I doubt because you will have Jair and Hanson starting to make reall $$$). if not then keep Freeman.
lol the more I look at that Lowe deal the worse it looks if he doesnt return to form. he is paid like a 17+ game winner... we need that. There is suddenly going to be a TON of $$$ in our rotatin in 2 more years.
2012
Lowe 15 Mil
Huddy 9 Mil
Jair 5-8 million
Hanson 2-3 Million
Chipper at 13
Escobar 6-7+
McCann 8.5
MCCLouth 9-11
Prado 3-4+ Million
we are suddenly in some payroll trouble.
