Teams unlikely to get Wood this offseason, but might pay to get Wang.

The Indians thought long and hard about about making Wood available to other teams, but stiff competition from the free agent market have led them to conclude that they wouldn't get much in return. They are hoping that the excitement they had when they got Wood wasn't premature, taking into the account that Wood sometimes didn't perform as expected when it got too tight and the pressure was on.

The Indians also will be on the hunt for help in their rotation, so they may try to get Wang for cheap. Though Wang hung in as long as he could in 2009, it is clear that the Yankees would probably not want Wang to keep coming in the Yankee dugout in 2010. The Yankees like for their players to be healthy, and we all remember when the Yankees's Wang was hurt after getting to second base in 2008. The Dodger's could also let Wang slip in, since manager Joe Torre was apparently a big fan of Wang a few years ago.

It is, however, clear that the Royals are unlikely to get Wood or Wang due to Rusty Kuntz.
