    Probably a Detroit writer. The two Detroit writers that voted for the 2007 AL MVP were the only two to give Magglio Ordonez first place votes instead of Alex Rodriguez.

    I was right, from the ESPN article:
    The first-place votes for Hernandez came from Chris Assenheimer of The Chronicle-Telegram in Elyria, Ohio, and Mark Feinsand of the Daily News In New York. Verlander's first-place vote was cast by Steve Kornacki of Booth Newspapers in Michigan.

    Steve Kornacki is a moran, in case you're wondering. He suggested the Tigers trade Edwin Jackson and Carlos Guillen to the Dodgers for George Sherrill and Juan Pierre a couple weeks ago.
