Do you score games when you go to them?

When I started explaining baseball to my GF decided to show her how to score a game as a way for her to learn what was going on.

It was a very refreshing experience for me. You watch the game in a different way, when you are scoring.

I don't do it all the time, but it's definitely something to do now and then.

99 out of 100 times...
actualy I dont remember the last time I DIDN'T score a game. I am waiting for that day that something GREAT happens and I have the scorecard lol

I used to score them all the time...the last few times, though, I have not. It is now really easy to get the information on the Net if you want to.

I used too, until I was able to drink at games when I became legal age. I do score how many beers I drink.

Seriously though, when I managed our hardball team a few years ago, I did keep score when I managed.

My fiancee already knew a lot about baseball except for a few things here and there because she played baseball up until about 7th grade I guess. But when I was playing this past summer in the local baseball league, she learned a little more from scoring our team's games.

I do sometimes. I probably won't anymore until I have kids but I used to have tons of fun doing it. I used to score Rockies TV games sometimes too.

Agree with all of these. I think I did it when I was a child and learning more about the game, but it's no fun for me anymore. I'm always there with a bunch of buddies or with a girl, so the last thing I could do (or want to do) would be scoring the game.

Yes, this too. The only reason I would consider scoring the game is to remember what happened, especially if it was a rare game, but every boxscore ever is online now, so there's no need to. Like Jeffy, I can understand why people enjoy it though, especially if it was a rare game like a no-hitter where you have your own scorecard from it, but it's not a big deal to me anymore.

I enjoy doing it during games that I have no real interest in the outcome, or special games I'm attending.

When the ASG was in Detroit, my brother and I kept score. That was a nightmare, given all the position changes.

When I went to the WBC in Toronto last March, we kept score for the Venezuela-Italy game. I need to go get that scorecard back from my friends.

I have my own crazy notations for when I keep score, so I always end up with like a glossary of symbols and abbreviations listed on my scorecard
