So, when Willis and Bonderman ultimately fail..who picks up those 2 rotation spots? Robertson seemed like some nice insurance...
Bonine would be first in line, then Armando Galarraga and Alfredo Figaro who are in AAA. Miner could factor in when he comes back. Thad Weber is another prospect who could break through.
Everyone keeps talking about Robertson as dependable, which makes absolutely no sense to me. You say Willis and Bonderman will ultimately fail, and while I think Willis will, Bonderman will probably be able to produce for the most part. Robertson hasn't been healthy or good since 2006.

I've heard bad things about Bonderman all spring from his velocity and his 'third pitch'. He could, but I wouldn't bet on it is all I'm saying.
And while Robertson isn't 'dependable', it isn't like the Tigers saved themselves any cash. I'm just failing to see why they made the trade, that's all.
Supposedly, Nate was getting really pissy about going to the bullpen, so they wanted to get him a place to start/out of here.

He was probably just mad that he had to live in Michigan
Meh is the reaction I had. I think Bonine, Galarraga, and Weber are all better insurance options than Nate, who has alternated injury and suck for 3 full seasons now.
