I don't think so. It's really hard to tell what they might be planning in regards to depth signings. The one they did make, Robinzon Diaz, was the one I would've least expected.

Oh, speaking of which, I'm slipping on official updates:
Tigers sign C Robinzon Diaz, will retain him as either the MLB backup or as a AAA depth player.
To make room for Coke and Schlereth, the Tigers have also designated C Dusty Ryan and RHP Freddy Dolsi for assignment. Neither are expected to be claimed.
I don't understand why Diaz needs to be around. They need to commit to Avila if they aren't going to make an honest effort at contending. There's nothing Avila needs to learn he can't learn in the majors, and he's demonstrated a basic amount of competence in the big leagues. I don't like taking valuable major league time and giving it to random depth guys just for the sake of depth.
Dusty Ryan is a very fringey catcher; has some pop and decent defensive skills, but has huge holes in his swings and issues with game-calling. With some more coaching, he could develop into a major league backup. Freddy Dolsi is really just a replacement-level relief arm: hard but straight fastball, poor command, and below-average secondary pitches.

Minor moves here:
AAA OF Brent Clevlen will be seeking opportunity outside of the organization, and has signed a minor league deal with the Braves.
In a depth move, the Tigers have signed RHP Enrique Gonzalez to a minor league deal. Will most likely serve as AAA rotation filler.

Nick Punto certainly wouldn't get in these type of situations.

The only positive is it's for 2 years. Hate the signing though, especially for a team like the Tigers who get so much value through their draft.mlbtraderumors
RT: @TBrownYahoo: valverde agrees with tigers. 2 years, $14 mil. Third year option for $9 mil.
Yeah, it's official. I don't like it, I'd rather have kept the draft pick and the money. But, at least they'll have a really good bullpen now.
