uhh, have you seen the SB career leader board? It's pretty ridiculous just how bad Rickey Henderson destroyed his competition.

Do the math -- that's averaging 70 steals a year for 20 years, and even if the game returns to a more speed-oriented one, 1,406 doesn't seem remotely possible. And for the record, Henderson's steal total is 468 (or 66 percent) more than second-place Lou Brock's total -- truly remarkable.
Usually with big base stealers you see a large drop off when you compare their pre and post 30 year old seasons, but not so much with Rickey Henderson (He leads both leader boards, btw).

The stolen base record is going to be a very tough one to break.

I'd put that one #1 if it meats the cutoff for "popular or well-known records".

Hack's RBI record stands out as one that doesn't belong on the list

Of those 9 records, Young's record is the only one that I would be very surprised to see broken. After that, maybe Henderson's stolen base record. The rest are breakable within the context of the game as it is currently played. Ryan's strikeout mark might have been challenged if Johnson had come up at the age of 20 instead of 26 (5 extra seasons of 200 strikeouts). Dimaggio's hitting streak will be challenged and broken eventually, by some hitter hitting .400 for a couple of months and getting lucky at the same time.

Unless the game has changed in such a way to make a particular feat essentially impossible, then the record remains to be broken.
