lol just for clarity...my comment way back then was a sarcastic one....I'm not going to brag about it too much..still a cool coincidence IF he does sign with them.

Hell, the Royals just nabbed a pretty highly touted international prospect a couple weeks ago....so it's possible.
My runs created per 27 posts (RC/27p) was 12.4 last year. I should've been MVP.

It won't. Cuban defectors' dates of birth are typically far more reliable than places like the Dominican Republic.

Cuba uses their baseball team in international tournaments to raise national prestige, and most of those tournaments have minimum ages. If Cuba pretends that he is younger than in reality, that would be years that they could be using him for competition that they weren't.

At the same time, there's absolutely no incentive for Cuba to say that he is younger than he really is, because all that does is make him more desirable to MLB organizations, and that is the last thing Cuba wants anyway.
    Illini.

    No logic whatsoever!

People are still insisting that Albert Pujols is older than his listed age even though he went through the American school system and was drafted here.

Marlins have thrown a 13M 5 year at him. This actually a good offer. For all we know, Chapman is a joke, 27 years old, etc... 13M should build about 200 rafts to get all his family over here to take advantage of our new health care.

Uhm...not to thread-jack, but to many, Cuba has a better health system than the US. It's already free to all citizens. No private practices or networks/insurances to worry about.

The WHO rankings has Cuba listed at #39, the US at #37, in healthcare.

So, pretending it's okay to stereotype minorities and immigrants and all that, facts should still come into play somewhere. They may defect to escape that nasty communist government, but I would hazard that folks aren't going to risk life and limb to climb two spots on the international health rating board, from 39 to 37. Heck, Costa Rica is just above us at #36.

And who the heck is 'Champman'? I thought it was Aroldis Chapman. Yanks26, one demerit.
