Its 1 game though, you are letting one game determine your season success. Bree's was 1 yard from breaking Dan Marino's yardage record last year. Though he hasnt thrown a TD in a while prior to today, its not smart to trade a guy that typically puts up huge numbers year in and out.
Ben has only had one season where he threw over 20 TD's. Brees has had 5 straight seasons of 25+ TD's. Thinking he is going to out perform Bree's in a season is basically foolhardy. Well unless youre a Steelers fan.![]()
Big Ben is going to be the 2009 version of the 2007 Tom Brady!
And so will Brees, but I won't be able to win every game relying on Brees alone, evident with the two losses I had in fantasy when Brees didn't show up. My team was weak, so I traded for a just-almost-there great QB in Ben and a possible complement to CJ in Deangelo, which might give me a better winning %.
Watch, Ben's going to throw 5 TDs in a game![]()
wow c/o robbins wait for the hike and then go...
The only way to justify to me it was worth trading Bree's especially if Ben is attached to the deal, is if you get 2 other star players. Its a lot, but you dont trade Bree's.
Now dont get me wrong, not saying Ben sucks or anything, hes a great QB. Easy top 5. But not when it comes to fantasy football, his success IRL doesnt match up to fantasy success.
Ben is not the QB he was in previous fantasy years. He's in a much oriented Pass Offense right now, and he should be ranked as a top 4, top 5 fantasy league QB. I know I'm nickpicking, but I know Ben's going to give me at least twenty points every game, and Deangelo too. Drew Brees is amazing, I know, but I feel like I have a better chance of trading him.
Time will tell
of course, i'm having a decent start to this week as well...this likely will be another 250+ point loss.
worst luck in the league.
