    The 2009 Metsguy Award Voting Thread

    The Metsguy Award, similar to the Heart and Hustle Award, should go to the player who plays with heart, grit, passion, and determination, and powers his team through scrappy ballplaying and good leadership. The cool part is- you get to vote for the winner!

    I believe the Metsguy Award should award the biggest fail in MLB this year. I nominate Jeff Francoeur from the New York Mets and previously of the Atlanta Braves.

    This is almost the same thing, considering "scrappy" and "gritty" are usually keywords for "sucks."

    Except, somehow, guys like Hanley Ramirez and Pablo Sandoval and Justin Upton get on the list. I'm pretty sure none of those guys power their team through scrappy ballplaying. They power their team through knocking the cover off the ball.

    Nope, scrappy ballplaying. If they weren't scrappy they wouldn't be nominees. Those 3 teams lack a lot of scrap anyways.
