    I think what I'm gonna do for this kinda stuff is, when a team starts to get really bad and it looks like it might hurt the league's overall competitive balance, one of the steps I'll take is to create one of their great players that wasn't originally on the roster. Or if I just feel like adding someone, lol.

    Gonna post opening day later today at some point.

    EDIT: Also, I think the most interesting thing with these rosters, is the fact that Roger Clemens isn't in them anywhere. He's not on the Yankees or the Red Sox, and I even checked the Blue Jays and Astros and he wasn't there either.

    That is odd, now that you point it out.

    Gonna do the first update here in a half hour or so, probably. I wanted to do it last night, but one of my close friends (who also happens to be my girlfriends brother) left for his second year of college today and there was a going away party at his house last night.

    P.S. - My updates aren't going to have a set number of days/games. I'm just going to play a bunch of games, and recap when I feel like it, basically.

    I always face that dillema when i start as the '93 Rockies. I like to keep Galarraga for at least a season or two, but I also like starting Todd. Sometimes i put one in Left

    I can't see the Yankees losing. Just move Mantle to left field.

    And here are some they left off, Reggie Jackson, Elston Howard, Dave Winfield, Rickey Henderson, John Wettland, Alex Rodriguez, Roger Clemens, Catfish Hunter, Wade Boggs to name a few. Some are on other teams I am sure.

    All records are including the game that is being recapped

    OD and FTB - As of now they're starting Helton. He's rated an 89, as opposed to Galarraga's 80.

    A great, albeit disappointing for our side, extra-innings pitcher duel to start this league. Sandy Koufax started for our side and pitched seven innings, allowing only four hits and one walk, while fanning an impressive 12 batters, while Andy Benes started for the Pad's, and went eight innings and allowed four hits and one walk, while striking out a slightly less impressive (though still impressive) eight batters. The game lasted until the bottom of the 11th inning, when Ruppert Jones scored after walking to lead off the inning, being sacrificed to second, and scoring on a Tony Gwynn single to right field.

    Another frustrating pitcher's duel. Our offense was totally not existent, and we lost in spite of a great effort from Drysdale (seven innings, three hits, one walk, no runs, and nine strike outs). The "killing blow" came after the Padres loaded up the bases in the bottom of the 11th, and Phil Nevin flied out to score Dave Winfield from third base.

    Our first win of the season! Dusty Baker provided most of the offense, with RBI singles in the second and sixth innings. Don Sutton turned in an excellent pitching performance, going seven innings, allowing six hits, one walk, and one run, while striking out six.

    Also an interesting fact from the first three games of play: Ty Cobb is leading the majors in batting average at .714, going 10 for his first 14.

    I feel bad for Tampa Bay and to a lesser extent, Arizona. They have to up against all time teams that have years and years of history behind them, while those two teams only what 11 years of history? lol

    Yeah, definitely. Arizona actually has a fairly decent team, especially the pitching staff, but unfortunately for them they're in a division with teams (my own and the Giants) with a lot of history, meaning a lot of great players. The Rays really don't have much though, at least not aside from Kazmir, Shields, Longoria, and a smattering of decent-but-not-spectacular (Huff, Pena, McGriff) hitters, and they're in the same division as several historic teams (Red Sox, Yankees, Orioles, to a lesser degree Jays).
