Add the ability to set lineups for individual spring training games

I'd like to be able to play and set lineups for spring training games.

Then, I could play players at different positions.

That way, players could acquire predicted stats at those positions.

That way, they could 'learn' to play a position.

I think this would fall under the category of adding the Spring Training games to the list of playable games.

I don't necessarily care about micromanaging too much in spring training, but there should be a way to have a hitter "learn" a position outside of switching positions on the skills tab... just enough where he wouldn't embarrass himself out there if played "out of position".

Pitchers can increase their endurance during spring training, and even learn new pitches, but what can hitters do? So far, nothing.

This would be a great addition, especially for those who PBP every game... having a bench player learn to catch to serve as your emergency catcher, or an infielder learning the outfield, etc.

Teams wouldn't normally do that in spring training, though--they'd have the player learn a new position in winter ball.

So, the week before pitchers and catcher reported for spring training, La Russa called Schumaker about his future. Schumaker admits he was "shocked." But La Russa knew if anyone on his team would work to become a major-league infielder, it was Schumaker.

In a perfect world, I would agree. However, Spring Training is the next best thing, being that there is no winter ball capability in Baseball Mogul, nor plans to have it in the near future.

5 stars. This is something I've complained about in my dynasty - every spring training, just one click and it's all gone by. No ability to tinker, test, slowly option guys, nothing. Can't even determine who gets innings.

Other games (MLB Power Pros for Wii, as one example) use Spring Training as a time where you can teach a certain new position to a player. It makes sense, as you can't really teach another position in the off-season or during the season. Since there's no instructional or Arizona Fall league, ST is the only shot we have.

I'd love to see this feature - if only to expand the backup skills pool. Injuries have a way of sticking people in weird positions, heh...

You could probably change a player's position during the offseason using the skills page. From expireience, they can still play their old position. Probably during Spring Training they will play at their new position.
