Saturday I was a double feature - ZombieLand and then Pandorum. Here are my reviews.

    ZombieLand

    Rating: B
A fun, relatively light-hearted romp of zombie fighting. Though it gets gruesome, and gets into the 'meat' of zombie infestations, it mainly stays light on its feet, evoking laughs and sometimes full-on hilarity. It hits its target, somewhere between Shaun of the Dead and a self-aware Seth Rogen vehicle. The guest appearance is priceless - like a 5-minute intermission that really doesn't fit, but is so surreal that you forgive it. But you rarely feel like they are really in danger, which is fine.

    Pandorum

    Rating: B
How many times can Paul W. S. Anderson make the same film? People in a sci-fi setting (usually scientists) become zombies; people try to escape/fight/survive; most die, a few make it, with shootouts and stabbings and gruesome deaths. Doom, Resident Evil 1, 2, and 3 - you'd think it would wear out by now. Pandorum tries to be something greater, with intensity more like Alien or Event Horizon (another Anderson vehicle, although written/directed and not just produced)- and while not necessarily reaching that peak, it certainly does its job well, with some cool shots and gadgetry, and a somewhat realistic view of space travel and the future (the shots of them coming out of hypersleep are great). Defintely frightening, decent plot, though the ending leaves you wondering somewhat.

I also saw Rescue Dawn at home, and parts of Reno 911: Miami. Then I tried - really, tried - to watch some of Uwe Boll's In the Name of the King: A Dungeon Siege Tale, but it was so pitiful I had to stop after 3 minutes. And I think I actually watched most of Alone In The Dark.

Anybody that liked Transformers 2 might as well jump off a cliff right now.

One of the worst movies. Ever.

..and Megan Fox. Not hot. Not even close.
My runs created per 27 posts (RC/27p) was 12.4 last year. I should've been MVP.

    Inglorious Bastards

Very disappointed and expected better from Tarintino. If it wasnt for Brad Pitt, that movie would be an F, instead D-.

I didnt care for it, very little action and just drawn out to a painful level. Ironically I didnt think the Bastards were showcased enough. Why even call it that title when you rarely see Pitt in the movie?

I agree that it didn't have enough Basterds, but I thought it was still good.

    WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

The opening scene in that movie is one of the greatest movie scenes of all time.

    It's not an action movie.

The first scene was great, it had its moments, but I was still disappointed with it. Love all of his other work, this though just didnt appeal to me.
