Weiters to Oakland in big three way trade with STL. Oakland also gets Ludwick. STL gets Holliday and a RP. Balt. gets Rasmus, and two top pitching prospects from Oakland.

SS : Cedeno (Preferably trade for someone better though)
2B : Yuni

All of those guys profile to be at least league average at those positions. Unless the Mariners think they can get someone who plays a different position and convert him to 3B or sees someone I don't as a realistic trade possibility, I'm not a fan of trading for a guy like Dobbs.

Lopez hasn't played third in 5 years or so and I'm not sure if Yuni is mentally up to playing second. And a rock could hit better than Cedeno.

Lopez profiles better as a 3B and 2B/3B transition is generally pretty easy. He'll probably be a bit below average, but he should do fine.

Moving Yuni to second would help a lot. He doesn't have the range anymore to play SS so even though I expect him to be below average it would still help to get him away from a premium defensive position.

And Cedeno can't hit which is why I think instead of trading for a 3B they should trade for a SS. Not only would a SS help a lot right now, but unlike 3B where we have Tui, we could really use one for the future.

I haven't looked through personally, but USSM suggest Nick Punto or Jack Wilson as easily acquired guys. Reid Brignac is a guy who would cost a lot more, but he's probably the best of those three. Twenty-three year old LHB SS for TB in AAA who has yet to figure out lefties, but in a stint in the majors showed he can hit righties extremely well and plays solid defense. I'm guessing if they acquire him they could platoon him with Cedeno until he learns how to hit southpaws.

I am thinking Holliday to the Yanks... they will shed themselves of Matsui and Damon this year, and I am sure find a way to dump Swisher on someone stupid like Wren, then go after Holliday. Gets them younger and boosts the offense (as if they need it) He would be good behind A-Rod... posada's bat wont last forever.

Or the Mets... if they get the balls to fire that Jackass Minaya and bring in a decent GM. If he is still there tho... they wont because he will say #1 Holliday isnt latin and #2 we have out OF all set with Church Beltran and Murphy (who is not an OF'er)
