    Another Greatest Game

The Setup: Mets won a record 118 games, including a four game sweep of Cards on only trip to St.Loo. Cards had 2nd best record in majors. Mets won on strength of starters (sub-3 ERA), solid high-avg lineup, and deep bench. Cards strength was power throughout lineup and a terrific bullpen.
Sidestory: Torii Hunter spent 10 years with Mets, winning an MVP, a WS MVP, 7 GGs, and 9 AS appearances. Unwilling to commit to 5 yrs, Mets let him go as FA after '13 season. After 2 years with Tigers, he returns at age 39 to the NL. It's payback time.
The series: Because of injuries and 5-game 1st round series, Mets face Cards ace only once. Mets get 1st round sweep missing 2 starters, who return for NLCS. David Wright's 7th inning GS breaks up pitcher's duel and gives Mets 5-1 1st game win. Cards pitchers stifle the Mets over next 3 games to take 3-1 series lead. Pujols finally breaks 1 for 19 funk with HR, but Cards still take 2-1 lead into 8th, when Wright strikes again, another slam giving Mets series-saving 5-2 win. Mets bomb Cards 13-2 in game 6, and here we go....
THE GAME: Unfortunately, recap wasn't saved, so I will have to fill in the details. Mets start Lou Briscoe, 14-1 during regular season and 7-0 lifetime in postseason, including '11 WS clincher and 1st round clincher. Had ND in game 4. Cards go with rookie making 1st postseason appearance. Briscoe works out of jams in 7th and 8th, and turns it over to closer with 4-2 lead. Hunter stuns crowd with 2-run game tying HR, but Wright ties it with HR in bottom half. Mets relievers go 1-2-3 'til 12th, when rookie serves up another Hunter HR. But Borchard, in what would be his last Mets AB, delivers 2-out RBI single to tie it again. But Hunter delivers his own 2-out RBI hit in 13th. Mets get 2 on with one out in bottom half, but the magic runs out.

You want to slap that box score between some [*CODE][*/CODE] tags (Take out the "*")
