    Next Generation of Baseball Mogul

    Next Generation of Baseball Mogul.

I’m a gamer. I play MMO’s FPS, FTS and more. Even with no graphics I still play Baseball Mogul more then any new game but I think the time has come for the next generation of Baseball Mogul.

I would certainly pay $50 for what I’m about to describe.

Perhaps Clay or someone from the other mogul games hires or forms a partnership with a graphic artist company. This company will take on the roll of creating the stadiums, player motions etc.

End result being a modern sports Mogul game that uses modern technology, to create a lifelike PBP mode play.

    Includes:

    Diving catches
    Fielder collisions (with injuries)
    Manager and player arguments.
    Ejections
    All present and past stadiums
    Stadium editor…and more.

For you General Managers, picture this.

As you’re looking through the numbers and deciding who to bring up or trade you can look at your window and today’s game is going on. You can pause or fast forward of course.

I can go on forever but I’ll spare all of you that.

I'd like the product but I still prefer BM the way it is (and the price it is).

One of the selling points of BM are it's simplicity and speed. Changes in graphics and interface would only slow the game down without adding much value.

i agree i love the smoothness of the current game.

If Clay is going to waste time on graphics, instead of AI, I'd much rather see these changes:

    (1) Show errors -- dropped balls, throwing errors, etc.
    (2) Have some of those towering fly balls carry out for a home run.
    (3) Show foul pop fly outs.
    (4) Show double plays, and near double plays.
    (5) No double play on slow rollers.

There are games 1000 times more complicated the this one that run smooth as hell, I really don't think thats a concern anymore. Unless you have a 15 year old pc.

In RL, there's how many in a game? Yet, this it totally missing in BM. You think after so many BM versions it would be finally included. Unless Clay doesn't watch the RL games ????

There are some things that could be placed into the game without a lot of graphics, just some probability subroutines:

    1. Probabilty of ejections for arguing or fighting modified by player personality (with possibility of suspension for several games).

    2. Probability of rainouts and rescheduling.

    3. Probability of on-field, in-game injuries.

    4. Ejections for pitchers for "modifying" the ball based on a player's stable of pitches.

I always assumed popouts to third base/first/catcher were mostly foulouts in BM. What difference would it make to classify something as a fair/foul out? A foul out is still considered putting a ball in play I think.

I am not opposed to the inclusion of these if they don't take too much of Clay's time.

No big deal, I suppose, but foul outs vary a great deal by ball park, they aren't all credited to the catcher, and it's possible for a runner to advance in some cases. I suppose any of the "fair ball" popouts or flyouts could actually be foul outs.

It's rare but a runner can tag up and advance on a foul out, same as a fly out. This would generally only happen on a deep fly foul ball.

A popup foul to the catcher where the catcher has to assume an awkward postion to make the catch and the pitcher is slow in covering homeplate. Guy on 3B tags up and scores.
