The government shouldn't ever be involved in sports...but alas.

From steroids to amateur football championships...there is government.

If the government didnt get invovled in sports, who would put on the breaks?

So in a perfect world without any government intervention, steroids would be legal, NBA and NFL stars would rape and pillage to no end, and college would involve just signing your name at age 12.

As for the BCS bowls, they are breaking anti-trust at this point. If the top schools still want to collect large bucks from scholarship programs, they must include non BCS schools. They have refused this recently, so this is gonna be fun to watch.

First off, steroids is a SPORTS issue not a government one. But rape and pillaging? That's law, dude. That has nothing to do with sport. The government should get involved with LAW but not with sports issues like steroids, the BCS having a playoff, or otherwise.

Also, college is allowed to sign during senior year by NCAA regulation not by government control.

Seems there are bigger fish to fry than worry about making sure your sports team will have a better chance to make it to a championship game.
