Just wanted to say i like your style rockies.
A big thanks to Mizerak's new Dynasty Results App. It saved me a bunch of time and looks much neater.

May 24, 1993- Our bullpen continues to be a big trouble as we blew a lead, big-time, and that is just unacceptable. It also doesn't help that we grounded into 4 Double Plays. Having 9 hits, 3 walks, 2 errors, and only scoring 2 runs is completely unacceptable.

May 25, 1993- Our offense continues its slumber as we only are able to muster 3 hits and we waste a good outing from Steve Trachsel. Our 4-7 hitters had a combined 8 strikeouts (3 by Jim Thome) and that can't happen if we want to win the game.

May 26, 1993- Can we get a new writer; it's the same old script over and over again. We blew a lead again today when they scored 5 runs in the 8th inning. Once reliable setup man Duane Ward got clobbered again and went from being one of the only men I could rely upon to being someone who needs to be used sparingly.

May 27, 1993- A 7-run outburst in the 6th and 7th innings (combined) was enough to push us over the Reds, but we tacked on 4 more just to make sure. We got HRs from the J&J Bros, along with 15 other hits en route to a blowout victory.

May 28, 1993- After the mega-outburst last game our offense fell just short in this game and wasted a pretty good performance from Nolan Ryan. Also, Duane Ward continued to be semi-ineffective after he allowed the "game-winning" run to score. His ERA is creeping closer to 5 after he has had a couple of rough outings lately.

May 29, 1993- So much for us "dominating" the Reds; with the win today they take 2-3 from us and we have lost 5 out of the last 6. That takes away the stretch of 4 wins in 5 games we had earlier this month. Basically, we gave up 4 runs in the 8th which allowed the Reds to have some leeway in the 9th (we scored 2, which would've won us the game). Our late inning situations need to be figured out, and fast.

May 31, 1993- Our bats continued their spring slumber as we got another good pitching performance but we just couldn't outscore the other team. June 1, 1993- Wow! Our hits in this game PLUS last game is less than the runs they scored this game (8 runs to 7 hits). Luckily we didn't have to burn our bullpen since Krueger went 3 innings as Jim Bullinger picked up the slack and finished the game off. This was just pathetic and brought our losing streak to 4 games.

June 2, 1993- Before we entered the top of the 9th I told myself "Watch, we are going to score 2 runs here". I said that because we had just given up 2 runs in the bottom half of the 8th to expand their lead from 1 run to 3 runs. Sure enough we scored 2 runs and had runners on the corners, with 2 down, when Jim Edmonds made the final out. We gave up 4 runs in the last 3 innings (that they hit in).

First Round:
Your NEWEST Colorado Rockies:
Rounds 1-3:
Rounds 4-6:
Recap: They say that offense sells tickets but pitching wins championships and we stockpiled our pitching today. In all 6 rounds we chose pitchers. One reason was that we needed pitchers badly (We have 4 pitchers who are either 40+ or about to turn 40) and they were just the best people available. Now, by no means, were they the best players available in the draft, they were just the best players who happened to fall to me. You can say that we will probably be looking to grab some fill-in spots (on both the hitting and pitching sides of the ball) to make sure these players can develop correctly and help us in the future.

June 4, 1993- It's sad when you get dominated, like we did, against a team that was in last place. We gave up 17 hits, 14 by starter Jon Lieber, and we gave up 6 runs in the 5th inning; the 6-run 5th inning put the game out of reach and gave us our 5th straight loss.

June 5, 1993- It was another game where we were down by a run or 2 going into the last couple of innings and then our bullpen gives up some runs to put the game out of reach. This time we were down by 1 going into the 8th inning and then our bullpen gave up 3 runs in the top of the 8th inning to put us down by 4. I was waiting for us to score 3, making it just like normal, but we couldn't and lost by 4; that makes it 6 straight losses.

June 6, 1993- We finally were able to pull out a victory, but it took every out, pitch, and hit that we were able to get. We went down by 1 after the Padres scored a run in the top of the 7th, but we tied it up by answering it with a run of our own in the bottom half of the inning. We were tied going into the bottom of the 9th when we decided to start a rally. Wes Chamberlin got a lead-off single and, after a Randy Bush strikeout, PH Bill Doran hit a single to put runners on 1st and 2nd with 1 out. Spike Owen came up and decided to end the game, and he did by hitting a game-winning double.

June 7, 1993- When Charlie Hough finally produces a quality outing we can't seem to get the offense going enough to support him. In Hough's best outing of the season against the red-hot Dodgers the offense can't even score more than 2 runs. Of course we were going against Orel Hershiser and we couldn't score any runs to begin with so it seems like Charlie Hough should've held that great outing in his pocket until we faced a less formidable opponent. Right as we get out of the losing rut we are right back into it to start off this 6-game road trip.

June 8, 1993- It's never a good start to a game when you give up 8 runs in the first 2 innings of a ballgame and then you give up a total of 14 runs in the first 4 innings of a game. That is exactly what Bill Krueger did in this ballgame against the Dodgers that was never even remotely close. Luckily long-man Jim Bullinger was able to come into the game in the 5th inning and finish off the game without doing too much damage to our bullpen. We finally got some offense in the 9th and it wasn't a starter who did it. Sid Bream came off the bench as a Pinch-Hitter and hit a 3-run HR in the 9th to make sure we wouldn't get shutout for the second straight game.

June 9, 1993- What is it with this team and giving up 6-run innings? Last game it was the 4th inning when the Dodgers scored 6 runs and put the game completely out of reach and today it was the 2nd inning when we gave up 6-runs. This game just epitomized the first couple games of the series and basically our season because it combined a crap pitching performance with a lackluster performance from the offense in just a total pig-sty of crap.
