Bingle: I couldn't figure out how to NOT get the original players on my team. It doesn't seem that loaded when you look down at the actual talent

Yeah, I don't think you can. That changed from the beta version to the actual release, and there's no option to have it be the "original" way.
Looking over your roster more, you're right. Most of your high-rated players are toward the end of their careers. Should be fun.

Bingle: Definately will be a challenge. Especially when my budget is at 25M for this year

Do you adjust your fan loyalty and fan base ratings? I do, and I think the game should have them at an A level by default instead of at F. In real life, for the first few seasons of an expansion team, they have high attendance totals and support (like the Rockies did IRL). With Baseball Mogul, they start at the bottom of the spectrum with F-level loyalty and fan base ratings.
Bingley: Thanks, I updated them to A and +10%

What version are you using? That problem with the 22 yrs old players existed before 12.06 but Clay fixed it.
I did some expansion drafts with the 1993 Rockies using 12.07 and Thome wasn't available. In fact, the highest rated player was Joe Carter (32 yrs, 81 ovr).
Good luck with your dynasty!
Bingle: OMG! I forgot them, thanks.
Sipimi: I couldn't get 12.06 to work, so I am using 12.03

Rockies> You could have checked the roster before you drafted, you would have seen Helton there if he was there originally.
Flapper: Yea, I didn't realize that the players on there would've stayed on my teams

April 2-4, 1993:
(0-0) @
(0-0)
April 2nd- A game of Hall-of-Fame pitchers started out not so well for each hurler. We scored 3 in the 6th to take the lead. Our bullpen was a little bit shaky, but they held on thanks to Kevin McReynolds solo HR in the 8th inning. (Won 6-5)
WP- Nolan Ryan (1-0): 5 IP, 6 H, BB, HR, 3 ER, 10 K, 5.40 ERA.
LP: Orel Hershiser (0-1): 5.2 IP, 8 H, 4 BB, HR, 5 ER, 5 K, 7.94 ERA.
SV- Doug Jones (1): 1 IP, H, BB (Intentional), 0.00 ERA.
HR- Kevin McReynolds (1), Jim Edmonds (1); Brett Butler (1)
April 3rd- Our pitching couldn't control the hot bats of Los Angeles. They scored in all but 3 innings and we never really had a chance in this game as Hough gave up 5 ER in the first 4 innings. We learned after the game that our First Baseman, George Brett, strained his back and will miss the next 6 days. Todd Helton will get to start in his absence. (Loss 8-1)
WP- Tom Candiotti (1-0): 8.2 IP, 8 H, 2 BB, ER, 3 K, 1.04 ERA.
LP: Charlie Hough (0-1): 6 IP, 9 H, BB, 2 HR, 5 ER, 4 K, 7.50 ERA.
SV- NONE
HR- None; Mike Piazza (1), Jose Offerman (1), Darryl Strawberry (1).
April 4th- Our whole team didn't function well. We gave up 4 runs in the first inning with 2 outs. The Dodgers scored 4 more in the 7th to put the icing on the cake. Our offense only managed 3 hits the whole game. 2 of our main prospects, Todd Helton and Jim Edmonds, went 0-8 with 7 Ks. (Loss 10-0)
WP- Kevin Gross (1-0): 9 IP, 3 H, 2 BB, 15 K, 0.00 ERA.
LP: Jon Lieber (0-1): 6 IP, 12 H, 7 R (6 ER), 4 K, 9.00 ERA.
SV- NONE
HR- NONE
What I found out: I figured out that we are not as good as our first game showed. Our pitching seems to be shaky, especially the bullpen, and our hitting can disappear at sometimes.

Bet old George has a lot of time on the DL ahead. Helton to the rescue.
OldYank: Ya, I am hoping Brett will give me about 80 games while hitting .300, 15 HR, and 70 RBI. Also, I hope he scores a bunch of runs b/c that means Thome is driving them in
