    Re: The Blue Jays Are....

...Are off to their best start since 2001...when they finished 80-82, good for 3rd place in the AL East under Buck Martinez. As a Jays fan, please forgive me for not losing my s**t. A good start is most certainly better than a bad start. However: meaningful games in August would be a move in a positive direction. You know it's kind of the first step when you haven't had any meaningful post-July games since...um...uh...geeze does it really go all the way back to 1993 or are some of the more rabid Jays fans gonna come on here and wring my neck for forgetting the 1998 wild card run?

    WOW.

Thank you Mr. Jackson, sir, you've made me feel better. (LOL, though I'm sure that wasn't your intention, and now I'm about to make you feel worse, and that too isn't my intention )

But the Nats, yeah, let me repeat, the WASHINGTON NATIONALS, yep, the sorriest excuse for a baseball team right now, played MEANINGFUL GAMES LATE INTO SEPTEMBER AS RECENTLY AS 2005! ! ! ! ! ! !! ! !

    No kidding! ! ! ! !

Those Nats were, at the All-Star break that year, in.............. wait for it..................... FIRST PLACE ! ! ! By like 5 games IIRC ! ! ! ! And played meaningful games well into September.

YEAH, THE WASHINGTON NATIONALS. YEAH JUST FOUR YEARS AGO.

Then one Mr. Jim Bowden came along, and does what he always does, and............................................................................. .............................

OK, OK, OK, I'll go back to my personal therapy thread now.

I'll go out an a limb and say "for real".
Probably not, it's a purely speculative gamble, but what the hell. If they do end up winning the pennent I get to look like a genius!

Anything I can do to help a suffering Nats fan feel better, provided they're not playing my Jays, I'm happy to help - particularly a decent Nats fan.
